is this for one room or a whole house?

Generally you can do a consultation for 2 hours which would be around £250-£300 – the designer would listen to your concerns / ideas / wish list & give you ideas and advice and then just confirm what you’ve spoken about via email but no design plans

Or you could have an E- Design package consultation which includes a one and half hour zoom call and the designer then usually offers 3 detailed designs based on your conversation and room/ house (takes a few weeks ) and this usually starts from around £1250

    Good luck !

I found it useful to think about the activity in a room first. Eg Xmas, where is the tree going and then where would you need plugs for lights. What do you do in the lounge? TV? Think about where it’s going with the light not reflecting. do you sit with a laptop? If so where to avoid bright sunlight and be close to a charging point. You may want to make sure they have experience with interior architecture which is the flow and placement of furniture etc and not just the aesthetic.

No suggestions but I’d recommend it. My friend, who is an interior designer, looked at our renovations and came up with loads of little practical suggestions to the architects plans that really helped us. She was much more aware of how functional the space needed to be than us. We’re also very indecisive so this helped put our minds at ease. She did this as a favour but I would also pay for this.
