I set up diy-my-home.co.uk in the winter of 2024.
I had been using Facebook, Reddit and other social media platforms for a few years, but I always felt those platforms didn't do a good job as an actual forum. The social media platforms were full of advertising, bots, and people who were not really interested in the subject of DIY and home improvement. I really missed the old-school style forums from the early 2000's.
Most of those old-school style forums are now dead, as so many people have moved away from them and into social media. I wanted to create a modern-style forum that gave the look and feel of a forum from the early 2000's, but with a modern twist of feeling like a social media platform like Facebook, Reddit or X (formally Twitter).
The website forum has a member profile page where you can tell us about yourself and your business. You can join this forum as a complete novice and ask questions to fellow DIY'ers and construction professionals.
Its a place to learn and share advice. A place to upload photos of your latest DIY creations.
