I just got a quote for bathroom refit. (One shower room 2.3 x 1.8m , main bathroom shower over bath 1.9×1.9m).

I am waiting for confirmation about what is included and what is taking up most of the cost. But wondering if anyone here can give approx cost for

    – skip and waste disposal for bathroom

    – day rate for bathroom fitter

Quote is £9,000 – £14,000, labour and waste disposal only. I need to find electrician myself and provide all the kit.

Based on what I have done myself in the house, even at £300 a day each for 2 workers, I can’t see how the work would take 3+ weeks.

    (Based on Edinburgh)

I’m in Norfolk and I’ve just had my shower totally refitted. New shower, basin & toilet all moved to different positions, sensor tap fitted, new electrics, new ceiling, radiator, wall panels on every wall & window cill, lvt on the floor & all painting. Bits of snagging still to do but the shower room looks great, exactly what I wanted. That cost me just under £11000.

The bathroom is in the process of also being refitted, ceiling, wall panels, electrics, flooring etc. This room is slightly bigger, the bath, toilet, handbasin etc are staying in the same place but will be in units and that’s costing roughly the same price. Lots of money but can’t fault the fitters so far

I’m in airdrie so not far from you and I’ve just had mine done for around 8k (ish) that included everything from start to finish… happy to give you their details but I know they’re booked up till the end of November.

If they were supplying and doing everything then £9000 would be about right but if you are supplying then for a smallish bathroom that’s way way too much! You need to shop around and get more quotes definitely

In northern England I think a midi skip was about £400 last year from memory, and I reckon a heating engineer would be on average £300 per day now. So yeah, that’s steep

Would definitely shop around. We had complete renovation, converting the bathroom into shower room. Cost £9.500 in 2020, including all new electrics, plumbing, replastering and tiling in Edinburgh. Apart from the combi shower unit I purchased all the fixtures separately.
