I have a simple solax inverter rated at 3.6kw and want to add a ac coupled inverter to soak up the excess kw we currently pump out to the grid in excess of what we consume. We get no feed in tariff and even if we had all the paper work… which we don’t. we would only get 4.1p per KWH therefore we want to extend our self consumption window. Yes its G98 notified and we max out the inverter with our arrays.

The solax unit is pretty dumb and controlling a new ac unit will come down to that inverter looking at the export side via ct clamps to know when to charge/discharge

So how do I feed a CT clamp output to the new inverter which is some 25m away from the consumer unit?

And does anybody have a recommendation for a say 3-4kw ac coupled inverter 48v charger that is decent programmable. eg import only from excess solar and discharge from say 7pm to 6 am and is cost effective.

Basically how do I replicate say an ecoflow unit which works with a Shelly meter.

Any help as ever gratefully received.
