I want to convert my garage into a room with ensuite plus kitchenette ( no hob) and looking to get each trades in my self instead of giving the whole job to one person as the quotes I’ve got are way above my budget. Wondering if anyone has succefully done the same themselves. I have planning and building regs.

I have a double garage and wanted the same – bedroom with ensuite and living area with a small kitchenette. I was quoted between £40k and £50k due to the drainage and putting 2 big windows in the front with stone surrounds. Architect fees were on top of that.

What experience do you have in the order things need to be done on site?

Who will be responsible if for instances when trades can’t complete their jobs if previous trades haven’t finished their jobs?

It’s a potential head ache and could potentially lead to the job costing a lot more.
