I’m in the process of choosing a solar installer for our house in West London and would really appreciate some opinions on a quote I received.

    Solar panels: 8 × AIKO 540 W N-type panels

    System size: 4.32 kWp

Inverter: Solis 6 kW hybrid inverter

    Battery: Dyness 9.6 kWh

South-facing front roof, and there is a chance they could only fit 7 panels.

    Price: about £8,000 installed

For comparison, I also received another quote from Glow Green for a roughly 4.3 kWp system with a Duracell 9.5 kWh battery, priced at about £8,700.

I think they’ve picked smaller panels and trying to fit more, but I think their calculations are way too optimistic.

My current electricity usage is around 3,000 kWh/year, but we are planning to install a heat pump in the future, so usage will likely increase significantly.

Does the AIKO + Solis + Dyness setup for ~£8k look like a reasonable spec and price?

Also curious if anyone has experience with Dyness vs/or Duracell batteries.

And one more question: is there a recommended electricity supplier or tariff that works well with solar + battery systems? We don’t have an EV in the household, and most likely won’t have one anytime soon.

    Thanks in advance!

Avoid Solis and Dyness – look at better brands such at Tesla, Anker, Ecoflow, SigEnergy.

Can pick up a fogstar battery for same price as Dyness and it’s UK support
