Stop fitting them in lofts for starters.

Isn’t it just batteries that are not recommended in loft spaces?

Does it apply to solar inverters too?

DC isolators aren’t needed as the inverter has an inbuilt one. MCS says if not needed don’t install them as they are a high fire risk item

Tidy work pal. Check the solax data sheet. Most day surge not required

Solar PV inverters are allowed in loft spaces. Majority of new builds have them in lofts and signed off by NHBC.

Batteries aren’t allowed in loft spaces aswell as escape routes etc.

I answer to your question, get some decent roofers in to do the roof work. It’s what they do, they should know the right way to install and leave the roof water tight.

If your a spark, do what you’re trained to do. It all runs smoother and the job should then be done right.

    Looks good

I fit Solax so the DC isolators are required for them.

Fire board by the looks of it too

Only thing is, keep the AC and DC separated

I used flexible conduit inside the trunking for the data.

no worries, it’s actually more for the panel strings and AC wiring. When ran together in the trunking it can induce voltages into the other. I was pulled on it some years ago by an assessor

    Keep AC and DC segregated

Never fit the inverter or electrical components onto a flammable board ! If in the loft use the brick gable end.

it’s not flammable, it’s cement board (hardie backer)

If you can find a local roofer who understands solar and you can work together, it could be a mutually beneficial relationship.
