  • Quote for solar and batteries from Heatable

Posted by Darren Hall on April 9, 2026 at 4:05 pm

So I’ve had a quote from Heatable for the following:

    13 x Longi solar Hi-Mo X10 Artist 485w panels

    Sigenergy 10kw hybrid inverter

    3 x Sigenergy BAT 10 batteries

    Gateway home pro

Hypervolt 3 Pro 10m lead EV charger

    + all installation costs.

    Total: £18,500.

I know that sits below the £1k per kwp and £500 per kWh but I was wondering if it’s a good quote or not.

Did they say why they have gone to Longi panels? Have messaged them as they always put the REA panels as being the best but not heard back as of yet. does that include bird proofing with only added costs to come as the scaffolding?

I saw the REA panels in the past, but I only saw Longi’s this time around.

I didn’t question it and they seem to have good reviews.

When I spoke to the installers, they all said the Longis were good too!

Longi are the biggest panel suppliers in the industry and no1 globally, best out there and ones I’d choose personally, for inverter and batteries look at the GoodWe ESA G2, much better product and GoodWe are a far bigger more experienced company also

Cheers mate,I got an online quote in the last two weeks and both panels were available although the rea ones where at the bottom and had to expand the image.

Its on the expensive side but without seeing the details on the installation I couldn’t say how much!

The price includes the scaffolding for two elevations, bird protection, all the paperwork and electrical work required for the house and garage.

Take a look at Longi performance as a rear back contact module with a 30/30 warranty . Also the ESG credentials . Longi is the only manufacturer with gold accreditation for the SSI (stewardship initiative )

With rear back contact you get higher output power , a panel with no visible grid line and a higher efficiency . Over the life of the system with the longer warranty the investment will produce more energy . There are other aspects such as cell level optimisation and safety as to why installers are opting for longi.

you’re welcome ! There are a few videos out on social media- check out the renewables podcast – I was on there a few weeks ago talking about Longi and the tech.

a good quote should represent value for money – and to know that you need to compare it against your consumption.

That size of battery would imply your house grid consumption, excluding EV charging is over 30kwh – is that correct? If so, what is the biggest consumer (ie is it a heat pump)

I have a heat pump now and generally high usage. Last years usage prior to heat pump but including the EVs was 12,500kwh.

Based on the models, it brings my bills down drastically.

ok, good to know it’s a heat pump. Do you think the heat pump is likely to be more than the EV’s, or can the EV’s be charged during the day? If so have a look at Octopus Cosy as it has 3 off-peak windows which could mean you can reduce the battery requirement by 2/3rds (ie 10kwh battery instead of 30kwh)

I would suggestion looking aiko gen 3 panels, for what your getting seems high. Look at this group I posted my system to give you a comparison of my system cost to yours. Thank you

Heatable are never the cheapest but you have a proper company with a reputation ! There is value in that in terms of risk reduction !

I obtained a quote from Heatables when I was selecting an installer, they quoted £482.90 per RERA 460w pannel installed. Separate price for inverter, battery, scaffold, and bird proofing. I almost asked if the panels are made of “fairy dust”!

That looks slightly pricey for the hardware used.

I’m sure you’d be able to get Aiko panels and a Tesla Powerwall and expansion pack installed for similar money.

I’ll take a look and see the difference in prices. It was more expensive when I had this quote.

It’s on the high side but it will be from a company like them. You’d save more than a Sunday night Chinese takeout by taking that spec and shopping around local. Plenty of installers in this group if you pop your postcode in and ask for direct comparisons

That actually looks like a pretty decent quote, especially considering you’re getting high-efficiency panels (around 23–24%) and a full hybrid setup with EV charger included . The battery size (30kWh) adds a lot of value, so it’s not just about £/kWp pricing. Overall it seems competitive, but still worth comparing a couple more quotes just to be sure.
