  • Roof dripping in the loft area of our house

    Any roofers here that can advise. Just been up to my loft and noticed the black material (dunno the name of it) Is wet / damp and dripping on floor boards…….is my roof leaking or us it condensation?

     

    Pictures attached not sure if it’s clear enough for you guys to see but it’s the best I can do

    100% condensation you can get felt lap vents from Amazon will help a bit but not completely

    Pull some insulation back from here to allow some ventilation at the eaves. Also, you might want to check that your loft hatch is insulated and seals well when it’s shut to reduce the amount of warm air getting into the loft. I’d look at raising the boards a bit as well so they aren’t sat on the insulation.

    Take Away the Insulation that is at the ‘Bottom’ “where the roof” is ‘meting’ the ceiling And if you don’t have tile vents installed I would suggest to install them
